Tribe sought a wellbeing partner aligned with its high-performance culture and core values – Be Brave, Be First, Be There For Others, and Be Yourself.

The Groov platform, with its focus on both wellbeing and performance, and its suite of tools and experiences, was an ideal fit.

About Tribe

Tribe is an innovative New Zealand owned recruitment agency established in 2014, with the ethos of culture first and leaving no stone unturned within the search process across temp, perm, and contract recruitment in NZ.

Tribe employs about 70 people throughout the country.

Why Groov?

Before Groov, Tribe already had a strong culture of wellbeing, but CEO Emma Scott says “we felt that we needed something that was a little more proactive”.

As an always-on wellbeing solution, Groov met this need, and provided an extra layer of support and resilience in what can be a difficult industry.

“Recruitment can be very high and low, so supporting people through the ups and downs is essential,” says Tribe CEO Emma Scott. “When the time gets tough, we need to ensure people feel really supported to do this tough role.”

Tribe finds its Groov

Since engaging Groov, employee wellbeing has gone from strength to strength – and as wellbeing rises, so does performance.

One of the most powerful changes, says Emma, is people’s willingness to come forward and ask for help when they need it.

“This journey with Groov has enabled people to be really brave and come and have conversations. We’ve now got to the stage where people come to us and say ‘I know how much you’ve supported me, I’d now love to help other people’.”

Tribe stays in its Groov by engaging with the monthly initiatives aligned with the Groov Wellbeing Calendar, as well as elevating internal champions of the platform.

“The proactive nature has allowed us to really tap into one of our values, which is ‘Being Brave’ – being brave enough to have conversations, being there for one another, being there for yourself.”
